This is long overdue, but I’ve been pretty busy.
Anyways, general info:
Date: November 13th, 2009.
Location: Roseland Theater in Portland, OR.
Line-up: All Time Low, We The Kings, Hey Monday and The Friday Night Boys.
I got to the venue while Hey Monday was playing, so I can’t vouch for The Friday Night Boys’ performance that night. But, I can say that I saw them earlier this year and wasn’t impressed at all. I don’t know if it was an off night or not, but I was disappointed.
Hey Monday, for lack of better word, rocked it. I’ve seen them once before back in April, but I don’t think I saw them at their best since the WaMu Theater is quite massive. Anyways, Cassadee’s voice seems to have improved a lot. I was really impressed. The whole band had the crowd so pumped and into the set, you can really tell they absolutely love performing. I know a lot of people don’t like Hey Monday because Cassadee is “trying to be like Hayley [from Paramore]“, but I honestly don’t see it. They have such a stage presence, and they really are awesome performers. Yeah, Cassadee and Hayley are both female vocalists, but come on.
We The Kings. Oh, they never get old. I think I’ve seen them a good 6 times now, and I am nothing short of impressed each time I see them live. Granted, it’s getting a bit old since they only have one album to play songs from, but they have so much energy. I’m fairly sure Travis was ill, but he didn’t let it slow him down at all. They started off the set with their new song entitled “Heaven Can Wait”, and they rocked it. They also did a cover of Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle” and the crowd ate it up. They performed it really well. For seeing them so much, it’s a lot to say that I would still see them again. I think the biggest reason I keep seeing them is because I love the things that come out of Hunter and Travis’ mouths on stage, so funny.
All Time Low, what to say. This was the 4th time I have seen All Time Low, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a crowd more into their set. Alex was ridiculously sick, and Jack had warned the crowd that their set would have to be cut a little short due to that. As far as I can remember, Alex did about 4 songs with the band before leaving stage to go get sick. Cassadee from Hey Monday and Andrew from The Friday Night Boys came on to fill in for vocals on about 3 more songs. Jack brought 2 people from the crowd to sing along to their cover of Blink-182′s ‘Dammit’. I absolutely love seeing them cover Blink, because you can tell how much they have influenced and inspired them. By the end of their set, I’m fairly sure all the bands were on the stage, along with a crazed dancer man, singing along to ‘Dear Maria’, and I absolutely loved it.
Overall, it was an amazing show. If I only went to see All Time Low, I’d feel a little gipped, but you can’t expect a super-sick vocalist to bust out a whole set.

I didn’t take any of these, just so you know.
